6 MONEY ISSUES TO CONSIDER BEFORE GETTING MARRIED

4. BILLS PAYING

There are two kinds of bills every marriage is faced with: the day-to-day bills and the long-term bills. There should be an agreement on how the bills would be split in a way that would keep both partners happy enough. It’s also important to not be individualistic when it comes to this aspect.

5. PRENUPTIAL AGREEMENT

The fact that you are signing a prenup doesn’t mean you are planning for your divorce. Whether you like it or not, divorce is a harsh reality of marriage, and most couples that have been divorced never knew that their marriage would crash. It’s as well important to discuss what would happen financially if the marriage comes to an end.

6. WOULD WE ACCEPT HELP FROM PARENTS WHEN WE ARE MARRIED?

This question might seem ordinary but it holds a lot of weight. Many people hate the idea of meeting their parents or that of their spouses when married –  men especially. Meeting your parents for help financially should be a decision that should be made with your partner’s consent or else it could lead to bigger problems.

There is no harm in creating that financial awareness before saying ‘I do’; but you could face a lot of harms when you neglect such issues.
