SHOULD EVERY RELATIONSHIP LEAD TO MARRIAGE?

getting married

Should every relationship lead to marriage? I don’t think so. But then I don’t feel it’s right for one to be in a relationship just for the sake of it.

First, a relationship should be between two people who genuinely care about each other and are interested in each other. This should be the first instance, and then it should be worked further.

If every relationship leads to marriage, then the number of divorce would triple in no time. A relationship should be a platform where you get to know each other better and know if you can have a future with each other.

The relationship should then pass through various stages, and if successful, courtship and marriage should come next.

Many pressure themselves into thinking that a relationship should lead to marriage, and then they often end up ruining the relationship or regretting why they got married in the first place.

I believe a relationship shouldn’t be something you do for fun, there should be commitment and the likelihood of a future; it’s where you get to test certain aspects of each other’s lives and understand if things could actually work. But then, you shouldn’t force a marriage on it or pressure yourself into thinking it must lead to marriage.

Every relationship should have a future, but then it has to be a successful relationship before you start thinking of the future.

That’s our take on today’s edition of Elcrema Sunday Love Special; do you think every relationship should lead to marriage?
