1. SEMEN ISN’T SPERM

This is the number one misconception a lot of people have about semen. Even though people use the word interchangeably, semen contains sperm and other fluids secreted by several glands during ejaculation.

Semen contains approximately 10% sperm, while the rest of it consists of enzymes, fructose sugar, zinc, calcium, citric acid, vitamin C, protein and water. So never confuse semen to mean sperm.

2. SEMEN IS PACKED WITH NUTRIENTS

Just as mentioned in the previous tip, semen is packed with a lot of nutrients; vitamin C, vitamin B12, zinc, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, potassium and calcium.

The average male semen has been researched to contain as much protein as the egg white of a chicken.

3. ITS AVERAGE SIZE

You might feel that the size of semen can fill half a glass cup, but the average size of a man’s semen during ejaculation is just half a teaspoon.

4. MEN NEVER STOP MAKING SEMEN

Men never stop producing seminal fluid compared to women who stop producing eggs after menopause.

5. SEMEN HAS ANTIDEPRESSANT QUALITIES

Semen has also been researched to contain antidepressant qualities. Cortisol, oxytocin, prolactin, melatonin, serotonin and estrone are all mood enhancing hormones which are found in the semen.

6. SEMEN HAS COSMETIC PROPERTIES

It’s also interesting to note that semen has cosmetic properties; it contains a compound called spermine that has antioxidant properties known to alleviate pimples and acne.

7. HOW MUCH SEMEN COMES OUT IN A SINGLE EJACULATION?

In a single ejaculation, the semen released contains 40 to 250 million little wrigglers.

8. SOME WOMEN ARE ALLERGIC TO SEMEN

Seminal plasma hypersensitivity is a condition that can cause redness, itching and swelling in the vaginal area when the semen comes in contact with the vagina. This happens when the woman’s body isn’t receptive to your semen.

9. HAS PROPERTIES FOR A HEALTHY TEETH

Semen contains properties that would promote healthier teeth. Semen contains calcium, zinc and other properties known to improve teeth health and fight tooth decay.
