Not everyone is ready to fall in love and people have different psychological reasons for not wanting to be in love. Inasmuch as so much has been made of how sweet falling in love feels not everyone is ready to give love the chance no matter who loves them and no matter who doesn’t.
There are various signs that prove that one isn’t ready for love and I would share them with you.
1. EMOTIONALLY DISTANCED
When one is emotionally distanced or emotionally unavailable, you push love away and that’s a serious sign that you don’t want it. When your heart is caged with not wanting to feel anything special for anyone it would only take a miracle for someone to break through to you. Emotional distance is a big sign that you aren’t ready to fall in love.
2. WHEN IT’S ALL LUST
There are people who don’t see anything in the opposite sex other than sex; when your mind is clouded with lust, love would hardly prevail; the probability of love prevailing would be extremely low. Love and lust are not even closely related even though people deem them to be.
3. WHEN YOU TRY TO FORCE YOURSELF TO IT
When you try to force yourself to be in love, it would never work out and you might end up making a huge mistake. Love has never been related to force and never would. Trying to force yourself might just mean you aren’t ready yet.
4. CLING TO PAST
When your mind is clung to the past, it would never be open to love again. People that cling on to past relationships, past hurts and past break ups might never see beyond that point; clinging onto the past would dim your future relationships.
5. LACK OF TRUST
When you have no trust instilled in you it definitely means you are not ready to fall in love; love means you are ready to trust someone with your heart, and when such trust doesn’t exist love would be a distant thing.
6. WHEN YOU DON’T BELIEVE IN LOVE
Many people out there don’t believe there is a need to love; to them love is a far-fetched theory that should never exist; when you have this ideology or see no need to fall in love then it ultimately shows that you are not ready to fall in love.
7. SCARED OF COMMITMENT
Love demands commitment; love won’t exist if there is no commitment. When one is scared of commitment such a person is definitely not ready to be in love. That scary attachment to commitment would make you resent love all the more but one who is ready to commit has definitely opened up his or her heart to love.
8. AM I REALLY READY TO FALL IN LOVE?
This question alone shows doubt and doubt is one emotion or feeling that would never work hand in hand with love. This question in itself is the answer to the question; that’s if you understand what I mean. This question simply reveals that the heart is far from open to love.
I know love sometimes might feel like a far-fetched theory or one that might never be for you; or the heart break or pain from a previous relationship has dulled your heart, but I end this piece with a quote from Dr. Maya Angelou “always have the courage to trust love one more time and always one more time”
