Minus the fact that alcohol could be a bit addictive, some people tend to rely on alcohol in almost everything they do.
If you are one of those that feel alcohol would make you sharper, then this piece is for you.
Be careful not to rely on alcohol on these occasions:
1. WHEN ON A DATE
If you have a date with some you really admire and you turn to alcohol to boost your confidence or spike your mood then you are on the wrong path. Whether you know this or not, you are your best self when you are 100% sober; you don’t need alcohol to project a better image of yourself because it could eventually go wrong.
You wouldn’t want your date to take you for an alcoholic also.
2. DURING A PRESENTATION
Okay, you have this important presentation to make and you are a bit nervous and lacking in confidence; alcohol shouldn’t be who you turn to on this occasion. You put your presentation at risk when you turn to alcohol; your memory wouldn’t be better with this, neither would your confidence — if anything, you might get to say that which you aren’t supposed to.
3. AN INTERVIEW
You are a job seeker and you have a big interview which is making you lose confidence, this shouldn’t make you turn to alcohol. You can practice interview questions and try boosting your confidence rather than turning to a drink or two on your interview day.
Your alcohol intake could make you act in ways which might not augur well with your prospective employers; you could become proud, your attention levels might be affected and you could appear as one who isn’t serious to your interviewers.
4. A SOCIAL EVENT
Even during a social event, as tempting as it may be, you shouldn’t also turn to alcohol. You could easily take beyond what’s considered moderate when you turn to alcohol in a social gathering, and you wouldn’t want to make a nuisance of yourself in public.
5. ON A SUNDAY NIGHT
If you must drink alcohol on a weekend, let it be on a Friday or Saturday night. Turning to alcohol on a Sunday night might be the worst decision you could ever make if you have work on Monday. Alcohol on Sunday night could leave your Monday in ruins; your sleep won’t be peaceful, you could wake up with a headache and your general productivity level would be affected the next day.
6. IN PUBLIC TRANSPORT
It’s rude and unfair if you have a smell of alcohol all over you. When your breath and other parts of your body smell of alcohol in a public transport, it could be irritating to passengers around you. Also, alcohol can make you act ignorantly on this occasion, infuriating other passengers as well.
7. BEFORE SHOPPING
Another time to avoid alcohol intake is when you are going shopping. You need to be fully sober when spending money. Alcohol can trigger you to spend more than you budgeted for, and this isn’t good financially.
Avoiding alcohol on these seven occasions would be among the best decisions you would ever take.
