With food prices on the high, it is important we seek ways to spend less on food without compromising on quality and a balanced diet.

There are several ways we can spend less on food without compromise and below I have listed 4 ways to spend less on food

1. COMPARE PRICES

I understand you have a favourite brand but sometimes comparing the price of your favourite brand with other brands could just help save you money. Don’t fall for the fancy packages but instead you should be in interested in how good the product is. Before you pay for that product, compare the price with that of other brands.

2. STORE FOOD TO AVOID WASTE

Most people are guilty of wasting food and the truth is you could save a lot of money if you waste less food. Always remember to store perishable foods in the fridge and ensure your fridge is organised so the items are very visible and you won’t forget you kept them in the fridge.

3. BUY IN BULK

A lot of people think you must have a lot of money before you should buy in bulk but that’s so wrong. If you want to spend less on food, then you should consider buying your food items in bulk. You would always get better deals and save lots of money when you buy in bulk.

4. SUBSTITUTE WHEREVER POSSIBLE

If you want to spend less on food then you should consider substituting whenever possible. You shouldn’t go for meat always, eggs and beans are also great substitutes which would give you the protein you need. Always try to substitute expensive food items with cheaper and good substitutes as they would save you a lot of money.

You don’t have to spend all what you make on food when you can actually spend less.
