13 SIGNS YOUR LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIP IS FALLING APART

distance relationship

Being in a long distance relationship is never an easy ordeal, and if couples aren’t careful, the relationship might crash before they even notice.

Of course, it’s easier to be closer to your partner than when they are far away, but sometimes these things happen and your partner becomes far away from you.

To be in a successful distance relationship requires twice the efforts you even put in a normal relationship; it all depends on the couple’s ability to still love, care, support, communicate and trust each other.

We’ve brought you an article on how to keep the spark in your distance relationship, now it’s time to know when your distance relationship is falling apart.

1. THE QUARRELS START COMING FREQUENTLY

It’s hard enough to quarrel and settle in a close relationship; but when the quarrels starts coming in thick and fast in a distance relationship then it’s a sign that if things aren’t fixed your distance relationship with your partner would soon be a forgone story.

2. COMMUNICATION STARTS DROPPING

You won’t be wrong if you say the single most important thing in a distance relationship is communication. Communication is the perfect barometer to measure the love, friendship and future of that relationship.

Communication is highly important in a normal relationship and twice as important in a distance relationship. When in a distance relationship and your communication level is no longer constant then this is really a huge problem.

3. NOBODY IS READY TO COMPROMISE

In every distance relationship, there ought to be compromise for it to succeed. When nobody is ready to compromise for the sake of the relationship, this might pose a serious problem and the relationship would suffer afterwards.

4. WHEN IT’S ONE-SIDED

When a long distance relationship starts being one-sided then there is every need to worry. Most times, long distance relationship starts to fade away when one partner starts to lose interest in the relationship, leaving only one partner to put all the efforts in making the relationship work — it would never work this way.

5. THE FEELING OF ‘DOES HE / SHE LOVE ME ANYMORE?’

When the intimacy levels in a distant relationship drops and feelings become cold and aloof then that relationship is in trouble.

When you start doubting the love in the relationship and signs of intimacy and togetherness starts fading away then your distance relationship is getting into trouble.

6. THE RELATIONSHIP IS NO LONGER FUTURISTIC

Surely, being futuristic is a normal feature in every long distance relationship, but when there are no more futuristic talks or the relationship doesn’t point towards a future then that could become a problem. Being futuristic is a source of hope in a distance relationship and when there is no more hope, there is no more future in that relationship.

7. COUPLES NO LONGER TAKE INTEREST IN EACH OTHER’S PROBLEMS AND WELFARE

Distant couples who are still committed to each other talk about their problems and general welfare — and there is always a genuine interest from both partners in each other’s affairs. When that interest is lost then it’s a sign that the distant relationship has started to fall apart.

8. CONVERSATIONS BECOME STALE

There might probably be days when conversations with your distant partner might be stale, but when the staleness lasts for weeks and even months then that’s a sign that your relationship is falling apart.

9. NO DESIRE

Desire is an important part of a distance relationship; it’s the desire that keeps the fire burning in that relationship. When the desire for so many things, like visiting, communicating and being there for each other starts to drop then that’s an obvious sign that the relationship is falling apart.

10. YOU START THINKING DIFFERENTLY

When you and your partner start thinking differently or start thinking apart, this could be a problem – especially if nobody is ready to compromise.

11. NO UPDATES

When you no longer have updates (especially important updates) of what’s going on in your partner’s life and vice-versa then that’s a sign that something is definitely wrong somewhere in the relationship.

12. DETACHMENT

Togetherness is an important aspect of a distance relationship. Even though you are not together with your partner, there can still be togetherness in distance. But if you start to feel detached from your partner then this could be a problem.

13. WHEN THE PLAYFULNESS AND ROMANCE STARTS TO DIE

When that romantic or playful relationship that once existed in your relationship starts to die then this could pose a problem in that relationship. When you no longer call each other sweet and romantic names and stop being endearing, it’s a sign that intimacy levels in that relationship has dropped.

Like I mentioned earlier, the difference between a successful distant relationship and an unsuccessful one boils down to the amount of work that’s put in.

When these aforementioned signs start to show in your distant relationship, it’s best you solve it on time, or your relationship might pay the price.
