There is a path to success and also a path to failure. The path to success requires hard work and determination, while the path to failure requires the opposite.

Self-determination is one outstanding trait that shows you are on your path to success. The road to success has lots of gallops and rough ends — it isn’t an easy road to drive through, but it’s one in which only the self-determined would drive through. Self-determination is one of the sure signs that show you are on the path to succeed, because without this, you would give up at the slightest instance.
2. YOU SPEND YOUR TIME PRODUCTIVELY
You are a product of what you do with your time. Time is like a seed; you can’t harvest what you didn’t sow. If you spend your time on productive things then it means you’re on the right path.
3. YOU LEARN FROM EVERY FAILURE AND OPPORTUNITY
The one who’s always willing to learn is the one that understands thoroughly the path to success. Every failure and opportunity should provide a learning phase and only those who are willing to learn from them are the ones that are definitely on the right path.
4. YOU CELEBRATE OTHER PEOPLE’S SUCCESS
The unsuccessful man is jealous of other people’s success, while the man on the road to success is motivated by other people’s success. Which path do you take?
5. YOU GIVE YOUR ALL
A man that’s ready for success doesn’t just put in efforts but puts in vital efforts, he gives in his all to make sure the job is done efficiently and gives no room for excuses.
6. YOU SHUN BLAMES AND EXCUSES
The man on the road to failure would give you a thousand excuses why he would fail; such a man would blame every other person but himself. However, the one on the path to success avoids excuses and puts in positive energy to try to get the job done.
7. YOU CAN ADAPT TO CHANGE
Your ability or inability to adapt to change is a major determinant on how successful or unsuccessful you would be. The environment (business environment, career environment or anything you want success in) is highly susceptible to change and if you can adapt to the changes that occur then you’re on your path to success.
8. YOU ARE NOT RELENTLESS
Giving your best as mentioned in tip 5 is one thing but being relentless, stepping out of your comfort zone and aiming to do better is another. Some people relax once they have achieved just a little success; this opens the way for stagnation and even failure. But when you strive to do better then you’re on the path to success.
9. YOU ARE PASSIONATE
You ought to be passionate about what you do. When you do a job you aren’t passionate about, you can never push yourself to achieve more, but when you love your work and you’re passionate about it to give it everything you got then you’re on the road to success.
10. SELF-CONFIDENCE
Confidence in yourself and your abilities would push you to keep doing what it takes to get the job. When fear of failure and low self-esteem get the better of you than you can hardly ever be successful. However, when you have confidence and self-belief, you are on the right track.
11. YOU TAKE CRITICISMS WELL
Criticisms provide a guide for the things you don’t know or see. Unknown to you, you might be failing in certain aspects but wouldn’t really know, but listening to constructive criticisms would give you the mental edge to correct your mistakes and do better.
