11 SIGNS HE WOULD BE A GREAT DAD

A good dad and kids

It doesn’t just end at having a man who would be a good husband; a man who would be a loving husband and a great father would be a better dream come true.

How can one really know that a man would be a good father?

There are no definite signs that would surely guarantee he would be a good father, but there are some characteristics that point to the fact that he just might be a good husband and father.

1. HE HAS A GOOD HEART

If he has a good heart then he’s most likely going to be a good father. A man with a good heart would do more than what’s necessary to keep his wife and kids happy and give them the best, to the best of his abilities.

2. HE PAYS ATTENTION TO DETAIL

A man who pays attention to detail is the kind of man who would be an amazing dad. With kids, you just have to pay attention to detail and any man who does this to good effect would easily understand his child.

3. HE’S SENSITIVE

Another quality that would show he would make a good dad is his level of sensitivity. A man who pays blind ears to situations around him might not be the best of dads, but the one who’s sensitive to your plight and those little things that are actually important would be the kind of man who would be a good father.

4. HE’S FAMILY ORIENTED

Family is the key word here; a man who has family values and knows the importance of family would easily blend in with fatherhood and enjoy being a father.

5. HE DOESN’T HAVE A HEART OF STONE

Men who are hard-hearted often end up being despised by their children. Having a heart of stone would make you have a poor relationship with your children, and every good dad builds a good relationship with his kids.

6. HE’S RESPONSIBLE

It takes an extra bit of maturity to be a good father. Being a good dad comes with lots of responsibilities and maturity. It doesn’t just end at being called father; it’s about being a father figure — a role model and someone who the children can look up to.

7. HE’S A HELPER

A man who can help around the house rather than leave everything in the hands of the woman would more likely make a great dad. Parenting isn’t just as easy as it sounds; it takes both the mum and dad to parent a child. A man who would add his bit to help around isn’t only a caring husband, but one who sets good example to the kids.

8. HE’S EAGER TO BE A DAD

A good father wouldn’t grumble at being a dad; rather, he’s eager and looks forward to the day he would have his own kids. But a man who hates having kids from the onset or grumbles about them might not be the kind of man who would be good with kids.

9. HE CAN COOK A THING OR TWO

No disrespect to men who can’t cook, but men who can cook have an added advantage in the parenting department. There are times the woman might be sick, or not around or probably recovering from labour. She would need her man to be everything at this point; he would have to be a good home keeper and at least an okay cook.

10. HE HAS A PLAYFUL SIDE

A good dad has to create time to play with the kids; every child loves such a moment. A dad without a playful side might just not fit in with being a good dad.

11. HE DOESN’T LOSE IT UNDER PRESSURE

A man who easily loses his cool under pressure might find being a father a rather difficult thing. With children, you can be faced with different kinds of situations and you don’t have to lose it — a man who can keep his cool and maintain a clear head at such times would easily make a good father.

Being a good father requires loving your children, providing for them, being there for them and being a good role model for them, so that they can be the best in life. And men with these qualities above would easily make good fathers.
