IS IT OKAY TO MARRY A PARTNER YOU HAVE FREQUENT MISUNDERSTANDING WITH?

Couple-arguing

Shawn

From a personal point of view, I wouldn’t say it’s okay to marry a partner that you always have misunderstanding with. For me, going on to marry someone you always have misunderstanding with beats the purpose of relationship and dating.

Being in a relationship with someone offers you both the chance to know each other better and build an understanding to a very reasonable extent. It’s after this you can then decide if marriage with that person would actually be worth it.

If your relationship with your partner was full of hiccups, fights, quarrels and misunderstanding then marriage with that person would be even worse. People don’t get the fact that marriage is a bigger deal than relationships, and a lot of people have this false belief that marriage would solve all the problems that the relationship had; ‘it would get better when we get married’ they usually say — but marriage doesn’t solve problems, people solve problems. Relationships need work and commitment to be better, but marriage needs even more.

It’s better to build that understanding in the course of relationship than hoping things would sort itself when you are married.
