IS DATING A MAN/WOMAN MORE THAN TWICE YOUR AGE REALLY A SIGN OF LOVE?

I think the answer to this question is obvious enough…There is no way love can be a motivating factor in a relationship involving two people with a huge age difference (at least, not for the younger person in it)—it just can’t be.

Take a good look around; think of all the marriages and relationships of this nature that you know about, the older of the parties involved is always either very wealthy or somehow well positioned in the society. Love may be the motivating factor for the older man or woman in a relationship like this, but for the younger person, love has absolutely nothing to do with it…not in this world, and not in this lifetime. How can a young man of 28 claim to be in love with a woman old enough to be his grandma? How can a woman of 25 claim to be head over heels with someone the age of her own father? Someone who cannot offer them enough sexual satisfaction? Someone who may not even be able to give them a child, and could drop dead at any moment? It just doesn’t sound right, and it cannot be genuine love.

Most of these younger people in these relationships are in it solely for the material and financial gain they perceive they can get. They get in there to milk their partners dry, and if they get the opportunity, kill them, inherit their wealth and run off with another lover (usually someone in their age circle). This is always how it goes— but of course, love is a very strong feeling, so there may be a few occasions where love genuinely brings people of different ages together in a relationship, but that would be one in a thousand cases…so I maintain that unless the older person in the relationship or marriage is financially inadequate and of a low social status, love cannot be an inspiring factor.

Unsurprisingly, Drama and Shawn share the same view on the issue. So, what’s your opinion?
