CAN YOU MARRY A WOMAN THAT CAN’T COOK? …SERIOUS DEBATE ON THIS ONE

Inasmuch as I tend to agree with Drama’s opinion that cooking shouldn’t be a criteria for marriage but I still think its importance shouldn’t be downplayed. Back in the days, it was a must for women to know how to cook and not just cook but cook tasty meals but these days anything goes; if you find a lady that can cook great it’s just a plus.

However, I don’t think I can actually settle down with a lady that can’t at least cook up a little something and isn’t even ready to do that, and I only have three reasons why I don’t entirely agree with Mr. Drama’s opinion.

First, we all know that there is nothing like a homemade meal; homemade meals never taste same as hotels and restaurants, it’s totally different and all men enjoy it. Feeding off hotels and restaurants continually doesn’t seem like something that would last on a long term, you might get tired of it someday and it might tell in that marriage. Marriage isn’t just an ordinary relationship; having a girlfriend that can’t cook isn’t same as a wife that can’t light a cooker.

My second reason is the children; I think it would be a thing of joy seeing your little girl learning how to cook and learning it from her mom not from a maid. Also, children tend to act like their parents; if a mom can’t cook, that trait might just rub on to her daughter and that wouldn’t just seem right; in a normal world, every mom teaches her daughter to cook.

Thirdly, a wife’s meal is one done with love; it’s different from a maid’s own, totally different. When a wife/mother cooks, the home is happy, it even creates this bond between man and woman that’s why men always creep around the kitchen whenever their wives are in the kitchen; so imagine if that setting doesn’t exist, drama and chaos might just be what would be found in that family. Like my late granny used to say “cook a man a good meal and you might as well win his heart”. It’s really easy for a man to say he doesn’t mind if his wife can’t cook but in all honesty it’s not easy to be in that situation.
