You bedding is highly important and deserve regular care and attention. Sleeping in clean bedding ensures extra satisfaction.

If you could put your sheets under a microscope, you would be shocked and irritated at the microorganisms that share your bed with you. These organisms live, die and reproduce in the same bed with you.

Skin infections, allergic reactions, pimples and acne can occur when you don’t tend to your bedding regularly.

These tips would help you take care of your bed sheet and pillowcases better.

1. It’s a good idea to have three sheets for your bed. One for the bed, one in storage and one in the laundry.

2. Your sheets should be changed every week, especially if you have pets that jump into your beds, or if you live in hot regions and if you sweat a lot.

3. Before using your stored bed sheet, it’s best to take them out under the sun or in an airy place. Your sheets could get stale due to lack of air circulation. Air your sheets if you want them feeling fresh.

4. Your pillows should be washed at least twice a year, as pillows can harbour bacteria, yeast and mold which can cause all manner of illness.

5. Change your bed sheets regularly, especially if you are sick.

6. Fluff your pillows daily to get rid of dust and dead skin cells.

7. The sun’s UV rays act like a natural sanitizer. So, it’s always nice to hang your sheets under the sun.

8. Tend to the stains on your sheet, if any, before washing the sheets.

9. Air out your pillows and duvet often to keep them fresh.

It’s important to take care of your bedding, especially if you want better sleep and a healthier skin.
