According to Dalai Lama: “Happiness is not something ready-made. It comes from your own actions.” A lot of unhappy people are unhappy because of certain lifestyles they live and certain habits they have become accustomed to over time.

1. THEY TAKE THINGS TOO SERIOUSLY
Unhappy people rarely love to joke and laugh about anything; they take life as a do-or-die situation and take everything too serious. Sharing a joke with an unhappy person might end up leading to a quarrel; they rarely see the bright side of things.
2. THEY BELIEVE THAT LIFE IS TOO HARD
An unhappy person is hardly ever positive and one thing they all have in common is an ideology that life is hard. Anyone with such mentality would never see the bright side of things.
3. THEY GIVE UP EASILY
This is also another common habit of unhappy people; they don’t only believe that life is too hard, but they give up easily. Unhappy people lack motivation and they are never fighters — the slightest problem that comes up would make them give up.
4. THEY MAKE UNNECESSARY COMPARISONS
Unhappy people have the unhealthy habit of making comparisons. They compare their lives with that of others without really doing much to improve their life. Such people are envious of other people and hate to see others succeed.
5. THEY ARE FULL OF COMPLAINS
Generally, unhappy people are negative people and one negative thing they are accustomed to is having complains over everything. Unhappy people complain about everything; they rarely see the good in anything.

Unhappy people tend not to believe that there is anybody on earth that can be trusted. They don’t trust anyone for any reason, and unknown to them they rarely trust themselves.
7. THEY DON’T TAKE PROPER CARE OF THEMSELVES
If you love your body, you would take care of it and if you care less of your body, you wouldn’t tend to it properly. Unhappy people don’t have time for their body; they have bad eating habits, bad sleeping habits and never exercise.
Eating the right foods can help boost your mood and exercising also helps fight depression. Unhappy people would rather take sedentary positions or watch TV all day.
8. THEY DWELL ON THE PAST TOO MUCH
Unhappy people would never move on from an event that hurt them; they rarely forgive but love to dwell on past events.
9. THEY FOCUS ON THEIR WEAKNESS
Everyone has a strength which can be used to their personal advantage, but the unhappy person never appreciates his strength; such a person would moan terribly about a weakness and forget that there is a strength deep within.
An unhappy person would rarely be grateful for what they have.
