8 TIPS YOU SHOULD PRACTICE IF YOU HAVE A HIGHER SEX DRIVE THAN YOUR PARTNER

COVER

Difference in sex drive isn’t uncommon in many marriages today, and it’s a situation which has caused a lot of problems in many marriages.

Men are usually more affected, because they tend to have a higher sex drive than women, and in turn demand for more sex. Some women also suffer from this difference in sex drive, as they could get married to a man who has a low sex drive and get starved of sex.

This variation has led to many partners to go as far as cheating on their spouses, but it shouldn’t be so.

These are some tips you should remember when faced with this situation.

1. NEVER THINK OF CHEATING

As frustrating as it might seem to be denied of sex or be sexually starved, cheating on your partner shouldn’t even be an option. Once you go down this route, your marriage might not recover from it.

2. TRY TO BE MORE UNDERSTANDING

It’s hard to be understanding in this situation, but it’ll help if you don’t take it too personal. Try to understand that you are built differently from your partner, and your partner’s lack of interest in sex could even be a result of hormonal deficiency, stress and psychological problems — it could be anything, but you should try not to take it too personal.

3. BUILD FRIENDSHIP

Try building friendship with your partner; forget about sex and lovemaking — build friendship instead. When the bond between you two increases, the desire for sex will follow as well.

4. BE AFFECTIONATE

This approach will also help increase your partner’s sexual desire. Just be affectionate, build intimacy and touch, without making a move for sex. This will definitely stir your partner up in the coming days.

5. KNOW WHAT TURNS YOUR PARTNER ON

There are certain things that could turn your partner on, and most of the times it might not even be sexual. It could be helping them in their chores, going on dates, looking good, taking a walk together; it could be anything. Try to know your partner better and you might be lucky enough to find out what turns that person on.

6. CHOOSE A DIFFERENT APPROACH

Why you get rejected most times when you have a partner with a lower sex drive is because you choose the same approach. Try something different, do something new; try not to pressure your partner into sex, which is something most sex-starved partners do — it’ll only make things worse.

7. UNDERSTAND YOUR PARTNER’S BODY AND MOOD

This is another area where sex-starved partners get it wrong; it shouldn’t just be about when you are horny and when you’re in the mood. Try also, to understand how your partner feels, understand your partner’s body and mood — and figure out the time of the day when they’re most likely to get in the mood.

8. COMMUNICATE WITHOUT ANGER

Learn to communicate with your partner about how you really feel and what’s going on. Be subtle in your approach and let the communication flow; this will help a lot.

Differences in sexual drive and desire could cause a lot of problems, but with the right approach, it could be solved.
