Pregnancy is a different stage of a woman’s life and it’s one which caution shouldn’t be thrown to the wind.

No amount of information can be considered too much as far as pregnancy is concerned; the more quality information you get, the better prepared you are for pregnancy.

Many women live anyhow even when they are pregnant, but that should never be the case. Below are some things every pregnant woman should be wary of during pregnancy:

1. STRESS

Stress isn’t a friend of pregnancy and I see a lot of women put themselves under undue stress during pregnancy. Stress is not healthy for both the mother and child, and can trigger certain health risks for not only the mother, but the child as well.

2. TOO MUCH EXERCISING

It isn’t really healthy for a pregnant woman to indulge in rigorous exercises. Rigorous exercises can affect your heart rate, causing a lower supply of oxygen to the foetus and this can have damaging effects on the unborn child.

3. NOT EXERCISING

While rigorous exercising isn’t advised for pregnant women, inactivity is even worse. Being active promotes a healthy pregnancy.

4. FORGET UNDERWIRE BRAS FOR NOW

While underwire bras might provide good support for your breasts, they might hamper your milk production. Go for supportive nursing bras instead.

5. SMOKING, ALCOHOL AND HARD DRUGS SHOULD BE DITCHED

Smoking, drinking alcohol and use of hard substances isn’t good for your new-born baby. Poor growth, learning disabilities, mental retardation, low birth weight and other health complications before and after birth are some of the risks associated with the use of these substances.

6. STANDING FOR TOO LONG

Standing for too long isn’t a good thing for a pregnant woman; it could lead to edema (an accumulation of fluid) in the legs and feet.

7. HAVE A SIMPLE HAIRDO

At the latter stage of pregnancy, you ought to ditch those high maintenance and sophisticated hairstyles for something simple. This is because, you might not have the time and energy to visit a saloon after your child is born.

8. YOU MIGHT START TO SNORE

You shouldn’t be surprised if you start snoring during pregnancy. The hormone relaxin virtually softens many parts of your body and some parts of your body also gets wider during pregnancy; this could provide an uncomfortable situation for your nasal passage, leading to snoring.
