8 REASONS YOU CAN’T ALWAYS STAY MOTIVATED

sad man

You want to keep fit, you want to lose weight, you want to be successful, you want to start your own business, you want to have better grades; these are some of the things you want in life — you start them out well, but lose motivation to continue before you know it and then you go back to whining and complaining.

Sometime later, you meet someone who has all you desire; you get motivated to be like that person or even better — but still, your motivation doesn’t last.

So the big question is: why can’t you stay motivated?

Staying motivated is a huge problem for many, and I would share the reasons why you can’t stay motivated for long periods.

1. NO GOALS / NO PLANS

When you don’t have set goals and plans, it’s hard to stay motivated. Without these two, you lose sight of what you really want to achieve

2. LACK OF BELIEF

Another reason why people lose motivation is because they don’t even believe in themselves. When you don’t have faith in yourself, you wouldn’t see the reason to stay motivated — every little disappointment would overcome the motivation you once had.

3. NEGATIVE INFLUENCE

Be with people who are goal oriented and you would be motivated to meet your set goals; be with people without goals and you would lose your motivation before you know it. So, yes! Your company matters.

4. PROCRASTINATION

Procrastination is a form of laziness, and you can never be motivated when you are lazy. You would easily lose motivation when you are reluctant to do that which you ought to do.

5. THE FEAR OF FAILURE

You shouldn’t fear failure; the fear of failing would give you over a thousand reasons why you should sit in your shell. You can never be motivated when fear has a hold on you.

6. LACK OF FOCUS

You need focus to stay motivated. When you lose focus on your goals, and you easily let things distract you, you would find it difficult to stay motivated.

7. NONCHALANCE

Nonchalance could be in the form of taking things for granted or being easily satisfied with your current level. When you reach a point where you become too comfortable to yearn for more, you would easily lose motivation.

8. YOU WORRY ABOUT THE THINGS YOU CAN’T CONTROL

When you worry about the things that you cannot control, you easily lose motivation and in turn, you forget about the things within your reach. Worrying about the things that are out of your control can weigh you down and make you lose motivation.

Losing motivation would never help you go far in life. Don’t keep going back and forth; read 10 ways to always stay motivated.
