For a lady to have no man in her life isn’t a feat that’s applauded all over the world; when a lady has no fiancé, boyfriend, husband then people just seem to presume that there’s something wrong in her life.
Being single for a lady doesn’t really mean anything except you want to make something of it; being in a relationship doesn’t give anyone an edge, the most important thing in a relationship is finding that person that can make you happy, someone you truly care about and someone that also cares about you should be the priority for every relationship.
However, the single lady is always faced with different questions of different kinds, and there are so many of such she’s tired of hearing.
Every single lady wants to stop answering certain questions, questions like:
1. WHY ARE YOU STILL SINGLE?
This question is quite irritating, you don’t force a relationship from nowhere; people just feel everyone has the power not to remain single; that is, they can be in a relationship whenever they want to, notwithstanding if there is someone available or not. To many people, it’s better to be in a relationship no matter what than to be single. The single lady hates being interrogated unnecessarily about her relationship status.
2. WHEN WOULD YOU HAVE A MAN IN YOUR LIFE?
This question isn’t just irritating but it is as well annoying. It’s funny how even mothers ask their daughters when they would have a man in their life; this kind of pressure could even make a single lady jump into a relationship with any Tom, Dick and Harry. The priority should always be having a good man and not having a man.
3. HOW DO YOU COPE WITH BEING LONELY?
Being single doesn’t mean you are lonely; some single ladies that aren’t in a relationship are living a fulfilled life even more than many women in relationships. People tend to attach being single to being lonely, but a single lady has little or even nothing to do with loneliness and it’s frustrating when a lady is single and people think she’s lonely.
4. DON’T YOU WANT TO GET MARRIED?
So many people see marriage as the ultimate; in many societies around the world, marriage should be everything to a woman; some daughters are even handed out to men and sentenced to a life imprisonment of marriage without even thinking about her happiness or whether she approves of the marriage. It’s tiring when single ladies are quizzed about their marital status.
5. WHEN SHOULD I EXPECT MY GRANDCHILD?
Mothers are most fond of this; no one loves having a grandchild more than a mother; some mothers remind their single daughters who are approaching their thirties of the age they had their first child. Single ladies actually find questions like these very annoying; one has to be emotionally ready and find the right person before getting married, it isn’t about providing your mum with a grandchild.
6. CAN I GET YOU A MAN?
A lady’s friends are the likely culprits of this; no matter how close your friends are to you, the only person that can totally know who best suits you is you; you should be the one to choose who is the right person in your life, not your friend and definitely not anyone else.
7. AREN’T YOU TIRED OF REJECTING ALL THE MEN?
So many single ladies have been faced with questions such as this; while I must say that some single ladies unnecessarily reject every man that comes their way with so many reasons that doesn’t make sense, it still depends on them to choose who they want in their life. Everyone have a set standard and they shouldn’t be ridiculed for it.
8. ARE YOU GOING TO BE SINGLE FOREVER?
This question seems to be sarcastic, mocking and of concern all at the same time. Many single ladies have been faced with the question of if they would remain single forever; this question is also annoying and tiring because people only seem to put emphasis on just your relationship and leave every other part like it doesn’t matter.
Being a single lady is always a difficult situation, difficult not because of the situation really but because people try to make your life difficult with questions and puzzles that just seem tiring. However, I would implore every lady to make decisions that seem best for them and not to give in to undue pressure.
