The success of a first date is what will lead to a second date, a third date and series of dates and even a relationship.
However, when the first date is ruined, there might never be a second date and a relationship will be almost impossible as well.
So when can one say a date was successful?
1. YOU WERE BOTH YOURSELF
Nothing beats a date where both partners are themselves and choose to be real with each other and not pretend. If you have to lie or you have a need to impress the other person, then that date was unsuccessful. A successful date embodies originality.
2. YOU ESTABLISHED GOOD COMMUNICATION
For a first date to yield a second date, proper communication must be established. Establishing good communication during a date is a positive trait and should be termed a success.
3. A CERTAIN LEVEL OF FRIENDSHIP WAS ESTABLISHED
What’s a date without friendship? What’s a relationship without friendship? Dating leads to friendship and that leads to relationship, and a relationship is enjoyable when the couples are friends.
4. BOUNDARIES WERE RESPECTED
A first date is very important and boundaries must be understood and respected on the first date. Knowing what to say and how to act with that person is very important.
5. YOU GOT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT EACH OTHER
You can say a first date was successful if you gained insight about that person. If you know things you didn’t about them and you both got to see each other in a newer light.
6. YOU WERE COMFORTABLE WITH EACH OTHER
Being comfortable and feeling at ease with someone you are just trying to know on the first date is a huge success. Feeling at ease deep within you and talking to each other without fear, tension or a need to impress is definitely a good sign of a good first date.
7. A SENSE OF SATISFACTION
With a successful first date comes a sense of satisfaction and appreciation; you’d feel deep within you that it was a good one. Such a feeling isn’t moved by a five star restaurant or a good treat, it comes from getting to know that person and the inner beauty of that person and accepting it.
A successful first date won’t necessarily lead to a relationship, it might even just lead to a good friendship, but these are signs that it was indeed a date worth your time.
