These findings would totally surprise you

1. MEN AND WOMEN COMPLETELY DEPENDENT ON THEIR SPOUSES ARE LIKELY TO CHEAT

According to a study carried out by researcher Christin Munsch, Ph.D, an assistant professor of sociology at the University of Connecticut; there’s a 5% chance that women who are totally dependent on their husbands would have an affair; while there’s a 15% chance that men who are financially dependent on their wives would have an affair.

To arrive at her findings, she analysed a pool of data of 9000 people aged 18 to 32. She looked at how satisfied they were in their marriage and their sexual activity to determine whether they cheated.

2. THEIR CHOICE OF MUSIC

There is this simultaneous relationship between sex and music and researchers have found that 41% of cheaters prefer rock music to other genres of music, 16% prefer pop music, 11% prefer country music, 7% prefer classical music and 2% prefer rap and hip hop.

3. CHEATERS CHEAT WITH WHO THEY ALREADY KNOW

You might want to think that cheating partners cheat with a one night stand or probably who they just met, but another research has found that most cheating partners cheat on their partner with who they already know. 85% of cheating is done with co-workers, friends and then neighbours.

4. WOMEN ARE MOST LIKELY TO CHEAT DURING OVULATION

According to UCLA researcher, Dr Martie Haselton, women are more likely to cheat when they’re ovulating.

“We found that women were most attracted to men other than their primary partner when they were in the high fertility phase of their menstrual cycle. That’s the day of ovulation and several days beforehand.” He revealed.

Women also feel sexier with their body during this period, prompting them to want sex.

5. CHEATING PARTNERS ARE ALSO HAPPY AND CONTENTED WITH THEIR RELATIONSHIPS

You might feel that partners only cheat because they are unhappy, but according to a study by researchers from Rutgers University, 56% of men who had affairs were happy with their partners, while 34% of women who cheated were also satisfied with their relationship.

6. WOMEN CHEAT FOR EMOTIONAL REASONS

There is a saying that women need a reason to cheat while men only need a room.

Researchers have found that when women cheat, it’s to fulfill an emotional need rather than a physical one. There is mostly an emotional attachment when women cheat.
