6 REASONS YOU DON’T LOVE YOURSELF ENOUGH

It’s good to love other people; it’s good to love your partner, your family, your friends, that poor man living down the street, the stranger in need of help and people you come across. If everyone one of us had love, the world wouldn’t be what it is now; war, killings, suicide, murder, terrorism, racism and so many other negative things that has filled the world would be far off. But love is lacking in our hearts, and it isn’t just the love for others but love from within.

Love comes from within and if you don’t love yourself enough, you won’t find the love for others.

Phil once did an article: 5 reasons why you should love yourself, and stated some reasons why loving yourself would make you better. You could probably be wondering why you don’t love yourself enough, and I’d share some of those reasons.

1. YOU WANT TO BE SOMEONE ELSE

A lot of people are not proud of whom they are; they see themselves as inferior and would rather be someone else; they look at other people and wish they were them. If you have this feeling, it would be hard for you to love yourself. Even Marilyn Monroe said: “Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are.”

2. YOU LET BAD SITUATIONS GET THE BETTER OF YOU

Failure and life’s challenges can leave a bad taste in the mouth and this could make you feel depressed. Even when you fail, don’t beat yourself up, but get up and try again.

3. YOU DON’T APPRECIATE YOURSELF ENOUGH

Everyone is much more valuable and precious than they think they are, but not everyone knows this. If you are so fixed on what you don’t have rather than being grateful for what you have, you wouldn’t love yourself enough.

4. YOU FEEL YOU AREN’T GOOD ENOUGH

Low self-esteem and lack of confidence can make one feel not good enough, and when you see yourself as incapable and not being good enough, it would be hard for you to love yourself.

5. LACK OF CONTENTMENT

Lack of satisfaction and not being contented with what you have can fill your heart with bitterness and unhappiness, and this would make it hard to be grateful for what you have. You can’t love yourself when you are not even contented with the life you have.

6. JEALOUSY AND RIVALRY

If care isn’t taken, your lack of contentment can easily cause you to become jealous of those you think have what you want and this can cause rivalry and greed. When these negative traits exist in your heart, you would find it difficult to love yourself.

Loving yourself is very important, but these six things can make you not to love yourself as much as you should.
