Science has found some ways you can improve your IQ, and become smarter in general.

Of course, there are enormous benefits that come with being smarter. Check out these findings about improving your smartness.

1. WRITE INSTEAD OF TYPE

Typing might be swift and faster, but writing would make you smarter. Writing has been found to make one smarter when compared to typing.

According to a research by researchers from Princeton University and UCLA, students who took notes by their hands in class generally outperformed those who typed their notes via computer.

2. EXERCISE MORE

Minus its health benefits, researchers have found that exercising regularly can stimulate brain cells growth. People who exercise regularly tend to have higher I.Q scores.

Exercising could also trigger the release of neurotransmitters which would help improve your energy and concentration level, as well as enjoy a stress-free life.

3. LEARN A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT

Research has found that learning how to play a musical instrument can improve one’s cognitive function.

When one learns to play an instrument there’s also an improvement in the part of the brain associated with hearing, memory, motor skills and audio information.

Hand-eye coordination, concentration and mathematics skills all improve when learning how to play an instrument.

4. PRACTICE MEDITATION

Meditation can also help improve one’s smartness level. A brief period of meditation can help you to make a better and rational decision.

According to the Association for Psychological Science, researchers at graduate business school INSEAD and The Wharton School found that “one 15-minute focused-breathing meditation may help people make smarter choices.”

5. DRINK COFFEE

According to researchers, coffee stimulates the mind to think clearly. Caffeine blocks an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain called Adenosine. Caffeine then increases neuronal firing in the brain and triggers the release of other neurotransmitters like dopamine and norepinephrine.

With these five ways, you can improve your smartness, according to science.
