5 THINGS MANY JOB SEEKERS OFTEN FORGET TO DO

Interview

Finding a job comes with a lot of stress, pressure and tension; it isn’t always a wonderful experience.

The pressure of being perfect for an interview can cause job seekers to forget even some important things like:

1. BE COMFORTABLE

A lot of job seekers become scared and jittery in days leading to the interview that they forget to be comfortable, be themselves and just relax.

You are a better version of yourself when you are relaxed and comfortable.

2. DO YOUR RESEARCH ABOUT THE COMPANY

Some interviewers expect you to have an ample knowledge about the company, and truly, you ought to know about the company you want to work with.

Knowing about the company shows your interest in the company — and many employers want to see an interest. A lot of potential employees have lost their chances because they didn’t do their research about the company, and when asked about the company, they fumbled.

3. YOUR CV

This is another common high-profile mistake most job seekers make year in, year out. Your CV should be updated regularly and it should suit the job you are applying for.

4. ASK QUESTIONS

Ask questions about things you aren’t clear of at the end of the interview. Ask intelligent questions, ask when you would get a feedback, ask what the company is looking for, but don’t ask about the pay.

5. SMILE

Don’t let the pressure of the interview overwhelm you that you forget to put on a smile at the end of the interview and shake your interviewer. It’s simple courtesy, and one that could take you places. A warm smile has its own magic.

Have you been making these mistakes? Maybe it’s time to learn from them.
