5 REASONS YOU SUCK AT RELATIONSHIPS

“I suck at relationships”; this is one statement I’ve heard quite a number of times. “I’m not the relationship type” is also another common statement people make.

Many people have that belief that they probably don’t have what it takes to have a successful relationship; they have been in so many failed relationships to the extent that they lose hope of ever being in a relationship that would ever work.

1. I KNOW IT ALL SYNDROME

Many people are guilty of having this personality trait; this isn’t confidence, this is more like ignorance. A relationship is a learning process, it’s a school where no one graduates, you only keep learning; if you learn, you would pass but if you choose not to learn, you would fail.

2. LOW SELF-ESTEEM

Low self-esteem is a relationship killer; no matter how beautiful you look if you have low confidence, you would never be an attractive person. Low self-esteem has a way of killing all the good virtues you have and portraying you as a weak person who doesn’t deserve to be in a relationship. Confidence makes you glow; make a decision today to build your confidence and kill your low self-esteem.

3. SELF

There might not be a bigger relationship killer than self. A relationship exists between two people not just a single person. If you are only conscious of yourself and yourself alone you would never have a good relationship; you would only keep going from one bad relationship to another. The trick to being a better partner is thinking more about your partner than you do about yourself; if you do this and your partner does same, your relationship would be the best love story to be ever scripted.

4. YOUR MIND IS ALREADY SET TO FAIL

I would pick a quote from Manu Bennet, “anyone can train to be a gladiator but what marks you out is having the mindset of a champion”. This really says it all; if you have the mindset that your relationship would fail, it definitely would. Have a positive mindset; be that champion and your relationship would reap a lot of benefits from your positive thinking.

5. YOU HAVEN’T CHOSEN A COMPATIBLE PARTNER

If you have a partner that’s compatible with you, even your biggest mistakes would be overlooked or treated with love; it’s just about meeting the person who understands you and who can grow with you in that relationship, building understanding between the both of you in the process. There may not be a perfect partner or person so to speak, but there is always a partner that can be there for you whom you can create a perfect relationship.

Saying that you suck at relationships would do a lot of damage to your mind. Get that belief that you suck at relationships off your mind else you would actually keep being a sucker when it comes to relationships. Work on your flaws, try to be a better person and have the right mindset and you just might have that which you deserve.
