We all know whiskey has that ability to make you go weak in your knees but so many scientific research has confirmed that whiskey, a drink that originated from Scotland has got health benefits if taken in moderation.

1. CANCER PREVENTION:

A 1998 study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that consumption of phenolic-containing beverages such as whiskey could serve as an effective measure in preventing cancer.

2. IMMUNITY:

A study by Australia’s Monash University found that a dose of whiskey gives you the required amount of vitamin C needed in a day. Vitamin C increases your immunity thereby helping you fight against diseases. This isn’t an excuse to replace your glass of juice with whiskey but know whenever you take a shot of whiskey, you are boosting your immune system.

3. REGULATE DIABETES:

A 2010 study published in Nutrition, Metabolism and Cardiovascular Diseases found alcohol consumption including whiskey reduces the incidence of type 2 diabetes by improving the body’s ability to regulate insulin and glucose levels. Also note that heavy drinking can actually increase the incidence.

4. HELPS THE HEART:

A research paper by Dr David J Hansom from the New York University has revealed that people who consumed a moderate amount of whiskey have a 50 percent lesser chance of having a stroke or heart ailment.

5. WEIGHT LOSS AID:

A 1991 study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that alcohol intake including whiskey increased the total energy and decreased carbohydrate intake in men and women.
