How you start your morning is very important; starting your morning on a bad note can lead to a very terrible day.

There are certain mistakes you probably make in the morning that can ruin the rest of your day without you knowing.

I’ve written on tips that would give you a perfect morning; but you ought to know what can as well spoil your morning.

1. EATING A LARGE BREAKFAST

Eating a large breakfast is like nailing the rest of your day to a wall; it doesn’t matter how healthy the meal is. The digestive system is much slower in the morning, and heaping your system with large meals in the morning would give your digestive system lots of work to do. Eating large meals in the morning would make you very sluggish; opt for lighter meals instead.

2. SKIPPING WATER

Water is always important, and after going without water for 7, 8, 9 hours, it should be among the first things you should take in the morning. Lack of water in the morning can leave you playing dehydration catch up all day long. Moreover, research has found that drinking water in the morning can make you feel better, happier and more energetic.

3. COFFEE AND ENERGY DRINKS

Water is the best form of drink to take in the morning; stimulants like soda, energy drinks and coffee have been found to have a not-too-good effect in the morning. A certain research has even found that these stimulants build anxiety levels in the morning; while another Japanese research has found that drinking a cup of coffee first thing in the morning blunts the energy-boosting effects of caffeine and may lead to increased tolerance of the stimulant.

4. SKIPPING MORNING RAYS

Continually avoiding the early morning rays of the sun is also not good for your morning. According to a study conducted by researchers from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, missing out on the early morning rays can have a negative effect on your BMI (body mass index).

5. HITTING THE SNOOZE ON YOUR ALARM

Hitting the snooze on your alarm can make for a terrible morning. Also, waking up an hour before your alarm, and then going back to sleep only for your alarm to ring in what might seem like few minutes later can also give you a bad morning. Improper sleeping habits can make your morning terrible and the rest of your day as well; this can make you less alert and feel more tired the rest of the day.

The way you start your day is highly important; your morning is arguably the most important aspect of your day. A good morning can make the rest of your day fall into place; whereas a bad morning can even lead to a worse day.
