I wouldn’t say ask them, because they’ll probably lie to you to seem perfect, so I suggest you ask those around him too. You don’t want to be the one suffering the same problems the ex ran away from.
CHECK FOR HOW THEY TREAT YOU
The real test of a person’s feelings toward another is in how much value they place on that person and keeping them happy, and value is measured in time when it comes to a relationship. How much time do they dedicate to you off their busy schedule? Are they readily available? Do they go out of their way to make you happy? What about sacrifice and compromise? If these things are lacking, love will be lacking too.
You don’t need to date them to know this. The simple things aren’t that difficult to observe.

I can say all I want from now till eternity, but the truth remains that you never really know unless you want to know. You can’t achieve unless you make a move, and there’s no better way of getting to know someone better than by giving them a chance.
