TOP REASONS YOU SHOULD QUIT ARGUING WITH YOUR PARTNER

9099

I always tell people it’s normal to have a different opinion on a particular subject with your partner but it shouldn’t be a do-or-die thing. Some people want to win every argument with their partner at all cost (there is no trophy for winning any argument).

I know the desire to prove you are right and win an argument with your partner could be strong, sometimes its best we just avoid the arguments because it would make both parties get more irritated and chances are that you would never reach a compromise with your partner.

Below are reasons why you should quit arguing with your partner

1. ARGUING ABOUT THE PAST COULD AFFECT YOUR RELATIONSHIP

You would struggle to build a good relationship with your partner if you can’t keep the past in the past. I know it’s difficult to forget the past but you should try to understand that what’s done is done and life goes on. So it’s not fair when you relate to issues from the past. If you have to talk about an issue, it should be a current one and not something that happened months or even years ago.

2. YOU REINFORCE CONFLICTS WHEN YOU ARGUE

I really can’t remember any argument that helped solve a problem; it only worsens matters. When you argue with your partner, you aggravate the problem between the both of you and this isn’t what you want. I know disputes are inevitable in every relationship but having a meaningful and calm conversation is the best way to deal with any dispute.

3. UNCONTROLLED ARGUMENTS CAN LEAD TO SUDDEN BREAKUPS

Most breakups happen during fierce arguments. If you value your relationship and you don’t plan breaking up anytime soon, you should avoid arguments. It’s so easy to lose control of your emotions during a heated argument with your partner. You don’t want to end a relationship over an argument that could have been avoided so easily.

For the sake of your relationship, resist that urge to have a go at your partner. Arguments are never the best way to deal with disputes; open and reasonable dialogue is always the best.
