We all want to be young forever but that isn’t possible. The good news is that we can actually slow down the aging process. We all do certain things that make us age quick and after reading this, I hope you try to stop them.

There are so many things we do that cause havoc on the skin. Exposure to sun and smoking are two things that would make us age quick.

Unfortunately, they are not the only things that would make us age quick, we have six others you should avoid

1. TOO SKINNY

While being obese is not healthy, being too skinny won’t help your skin too. When you are too skinny, you lose facial fat which causes sagging and a gaunt, aged appearance. Repeated weight gain and loss isn’t good for the skin too as it causes your skin to stretch and make it loose. Always ensure you maintain a healthy weight.

2. SLEEPING ON YOUR SIDE

While sleeping on your side may be fun, it is not good for your skin and it would cause you to age quickly. Sleeping on your stomach isn’t good too so try sleeping on your back.

Imagine pressing your face into the pillow eight hours a night for years, you would end up breaking down your skin and causing wrinkles.

3. NOT SLEEPING ENOUGH

When you sleep at night, your skin goes into a renewal state. So when you don’t get enough sleep, you deny your skin the opportunity to renew.

Try getting at least 8 hours of sleep daily to avoid aging quick.

4. ALWAYS STRESSED OUT

When you worry too much or you are stressed, your body pumps out stress hormones non-stop which can cause premature aging.

Cortisol is one of the hormones your body would release when you are stressed out and it leads to sagging skinĀ  and wrinkles and causes inflammation.

Try to relax regularly to reduce stress.

5. NEGLECTING YOUR NECK AND HANDS

Have you ever wondered why your neck and hands age quicker? We tend to neglect them a lot. Always apply anti-aging facial cream on your neck and on the back of your hand to prevent premature aging. Also cover them with sunscreen every day.

6. USING STRAW

While using straw to take our drinks prevents our shirts from getting stained, it causes fine lines around your mouth, which is a sign of premature aging.

Whenever possible, avoid using a straw to take your drinks.
