A study by Elite singles revealed that men between the ages of 20-29 tend to like older ladies.
About 450,000 online daters in their 20’s were studied in this research.
According to psychologist, Sam Owen, the reason younger men prefer older women is due to the change in society.
“[It’s] likely indicative of the change in gender roles in modern society towards more equality between the sexes,
“Young men today probably also recognize that older women are adept at diligently juggling so many responsibilities (career, children, housekeeping, fitness, finances, socializing), which makes them intriguing and attractive and a more secure option.” He said.
Unsurprisingly, the study also found that even women prefer to date older men. Younger women prefer men older by six years. Older women on the other hand prefer men older by not more than 3 years.
However, the study also found that men in general prefer younger women, and the average most desirable age gap was up to 11 years younger than themselves.
