HOW MANY HOURS DO YOU SLEEP EVERY NIGHT?

People normally have irregular sleep duration every night; some sleep for little hours of the night while many spend large hours on sleep every night.

Research has shown that too little sleep is bad for the health and too much sleep isn’t any good to your health either.

So the big question is; what is the structured time to sleep every night?

Experts generally recommend seven to nine hours of sleep every night but recent research has shown that seven hours of sleep is the perfect sleep time for every adult.

Dr Shawn Youngstedt, a professor in College of Nursing and Health Innovation at Arizona State University researched on the effect of over sleeping, says that “eight hours or more has consistently been shown to be hazardous”.

“The lowest mortality and morbidity rate is seven hours” he said.

Other research has shown that skipping on a full night’s sleep even by 20 minutes impairs performance and memory the next day; whereas too much sleep can aid health problems such as obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

So how many hours do you sleep every night?
