Fear is an enemy of failure. When fear exists, you can hardly achieve success. Fear limits you in every way possible, and if you don’t fight it, it would ruin your life.
How can you overcome your fears?
1. IDENTITY THE FEAR
Identify what’s making you scared, identify the fear that’s hindering you from progressing or the fear that just can’t let your mind be at peace. Identifying your fear is actually the first step to overcoming it.
2. BECOME AWARE ABOUT IT
Educate yourself about what’s making you so afraid. After identifying your fear, you should try to read and learn more about that fear. Read everything you can about it; if your fear is public speaking, then try to read all that you can about public speaking. This would go a long way in overcoming that fear; it would help you become aware if it.
3. TALK TO SOMEONE ABOUT IT
Talk to someone about your fears; seek help. The more you talk about it, the lesser you would be afraid of it.
4. BE CURIOUS
A curious person knows no fear. Be curious about your fears and how you would feel when you overcome it. Be curious about what even generates the fear in the first place and how you can overcome it. When curiosity steps in, you would be closer than you think in solving that fear.
5. THINK POSITIVELY
Understand that fear is in the mind, and the power to overcome it is also in the mind.
To overcome your fears, you have to start thinking positively. Replace those negative thoughts with positive thoughts, and you would be surprised at how far you’ve come.
6. START WITH SMALL STEPS
After these five previous steps, you. should try to face your fear little by little; take steps no matter how small. Little by little, you would overcome the fear.
7. CELEBRATE SMALL VICTORIES
Be happy with any progress you’ve made; this would motivate you to take bolder steps.
8. EXPOSE YOURSELF TO IT
After taking the aforementioned steps, it would be pertinent to face your fears head on. Expose yourself to the fear and try to tackle it. And even you fail, never give up — try again.
Overcoming your fears might look difficult at first, but when you take the right step, it won’t look so difficult again.
