If you were told that anything you conceive in your mind would come to pass, would you still dream small dreams? No, everyone would dream big and mighty dreams if they knew their dreams would come through. This shows that doubt is a major reason why people prefer to have little or even no dreams than to dream big.
There is a huge difference between a big dreamer and the one who dreams little. All great men dream big dreams. They dreamed, followed their dreams and made it happen.
Below are eight important reasons to dream big.
1. IT’S PROBABLY WHERE YOUR TRUE PURPOSE LIES
I personally don’t think anyone was created to be little; there is that big desire in each and everyone one of us, but not many are willing to search deep into their soul and connect with the big things they are made for. Following your dreams connects you to your inner self, and it’s where your purpose lies — and it’s when you follow your dreams that you can actually find fulfilment in life.
2. YOU ACHIEVE MORE
Having big dreams would push you to achieve more; big dreams would push you physically, mentally and emotionally till you get to that which you want. More often than not, it’s that push and resistance, added with belief that makes dreams come true.
3. AND EVEN IF YOU DON’T…
Even if you don’t totally achieve your dreams and probably fall a place short, it’s still okay because it would place you at the top. However, if you fall a place short of small dreams, you would only achieve very little.
According to a quote by Pitbull “Shoot for the stars and if you miss, you are still on top of the world.”
4. BIG DREAMS GIVE LIFE MEANING
Life becomes more meaningful when you dream big than when you have little or no dreams. Big dreams give you a purpose, they make tomorrow worth it. What’s life without a purpose? Meaningless.
5. DREAMING BIG TAKES YOU BEYOND YOUR NORMAL INTELLIGENCE
Your normal intelligence would never take you anywhere extraordinary. If people didn’t dream big dreams, there would have been no phones, cars, jets and every other great invention. Dreaming big takes you beyond your normal intelligence; big dreams are sourced from an external stimuli and feeling that ordinarily wouldn’t come from your normal intelligence.
6. THE MIND IS A POWERFUL TOOL
The mind is a highly powerful tool, and everything it sets out to achieve is almost always achieved. When you dream little dreams, you aren’t properly utilising the power of your mind. Your mind would give you that inner strength to overcome fear and challenges and push you to take that extra step — and this is only possible when you dream big dreams.
7. YOU OPEN POSSIBILITIES
While small dreams leave you stagnated, big dreams open up possibilities. Big dreams make you adventurous and this sort of opens the heavens to you. Whereas small dreams just leave you feeling glued to a spot or just hovering around.
8. THE WORLD WOULD BE BETTER FOR IT
Big dreams would definitely benefit the world; it’s the right thing to do in any walk of life you are in. The world deserves better and it’s only big dreams that would make you leave a stamp on it. Big dreams don’t only help you, but the world benefits from it.
Why don’t you step out of the crowd of average people and pursue that which people wouldn’t ordinarily want to. Dream big today, because that’s what would make you bigger tomorrow.
