I know you must be asking “who in her right senses would prefer a book to having a relationship.” Reading a book isn’t just for nerds and when I talk about reading a book, I definitely don’t mean those 600-page books your professor in the university made you read.
I mean reading a book that would that would thrill you and change the way you see life. Books that would keep you entertained and give you useful knowledge. I am talk about a well-written book.

1. PROVIDES YOU WITH A TREASURE OF KNOWLEDGE
Your boyfriend won’t give you any useful knowledge except knowledge about being better in bed. Lol. No matter how knowledgeable your guy is, he can never match the type of knowledge books provide. So instead of listening to your boyfriend talk about the things he would do to you in bed all day, why don’t you pick a good book and get some useful knowledge.
2. BOOKS WON’T GET ANGRY IF YOU NEED SOME ALONE TIME
Guys never seem to understand why we need an alone time. They always seem to get upset when we ask for some time alone. Your books won’t get upset if you put them aside for a little bit so you can focus on yourself.
3. YOU ARE NOT COMMITTED TO HAVING JUST ONE
You can’t tell your boyfriend you need to have other men in your life. No way, that makes you loose and irresponsible. You always have to be committed to him. You also can’t just change your boyfriend every time he bugs you too.
With a book, you can do all this and even more. You can have only one boyfriend but you can have tens or even hundreds of books and reading so many books makes you look smart and educated. If your boyfriend is boring you, you can’t just drop him aside and pick a new boyfriend but you can do exactly that with a book.
4. A BOOK WOULD NEVER FORCE YOU TO CHANGE
It’s really frustrating how our boyfriends always want us to change who we are. The problem with changing yourself all the time to meet the needs of a boyfriend is that you end up being confused. You date Jake and he changes you to suit his taste; you then date Tom who does same. Phil, Shawn, Mark and Gerald also change you to suit their taste after dating them. Don’t you think you would end up being a different and confused person after all these changes?
Your book would force you to change unlike your boyfriend. Your books instead allow you be who you are. Your books open up your mind to different possibilities while letting you make the necessary changes you might need yourself.
5. BOOKS WOULD NEVER BE MAD IF YOU FALL ASLEEP ON THEM
Guys just hate it when we fall asleep on them. It really sort of frustrates them. They never understand we can get tired sometimes; guys tend to think sleeping on them means they are boring.
Books understand. Your books have no issues when you fall asleep on them. Your book won’t get mad at you for falling asleep on it. All you have to do is just continue reading from where you stopped in the morning when you are well-rested.
6. BREAKUPS WITH YOUR BOYFRIEND CAN GET MESSY BUT IT’S SO SMOOTH WITH BOOKS
When your relationship with your boyfriend ends, the breakup can get really messy sometimes. It often times require so much change and decision-making.
It’s so different with your books. When you are done with the book, you know you are done with it. There’s no such thing as having a rebound relationship due to heartbreak.
7. YOUR BOOK WILL NEVER MAKE YOU FEEL LONELY
Your boyfriend would not always be there with you. He can only be with you when he is free. Sometimes he might need to travel for days leaving you mad lonely.
Your books won’t do this to you. A good book will never make you feel abandoned. You can take your book anywhere and you can also count on it for entertainment any hour and any day. No boyfriend can do this for you.
8. BOOKS WON’T JUDGE YOU
Your books will never judge you. Whether you haven’t brushed your teeth, washed your hair in days, or look like someone who is homeless, your book will definitely accept you the way you are.
No boyfriend can take all this from you. You kind of have to look acceptable if you want to keep your boyfriend.
