Some expectations are realistic and some are unrealistic. In life settings, painting a wall with a red paint and expecting it to turn blue out of the blues is an unrealistic expectation; expecting to win a lottery is also another unrealistic expectation.
Just as we have unrealistic expectations in normal life settings, we also face such in relationships.
There are certain unrealistic expectations men have of women most times — and most times, they don’t even know that their expectations are unrealistic.
Below are some unrealistic expectations men have.
1. UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS OF HER BODY
Social media and music videos haven’t helped the women cause. Most men have an unrealistic expectation for their women to have the perfect body; most men want the perfect face, ass, boobs and hips at the same time.
This is an unrealistic expectation and it has forced many women to turn to surgery to get the perfect looks and body. Men should learn to accept the woman’s natural body and shape.
2. TO NEED THEM COMPLETELY AND INCOMPLETELY AT THE SAME TIME
This is another unrealistic expectation a lot of men have. Most men want their women to be independent of them, but many feel insecure when she’s actually independent. Men love to take care of things; they love to display their manly ego, but still don’t know if they want a dependent or independent woman.
3. TO DRESS UP AS FAST AS THEY DO
Makeups take time and also caution; one mistake and you can ruin the whole set up. Unfortunately most men want their women to look awesome when out with them, but can’t wait a few extra minutes for her to get her makeup done. It’s plain impossible to expect a woman to dress within the same time frame as you.
4. TO LOSE ALL OUR MALE FRIENDS
Most men feel insecure when a woman have male friends and many even have that unfair and unrealistic expectation that the woman ought to cut off her friendship with her male friends just for his sake. Some even go as far as expecting their women to cut off their friendship with their female friends as well — this is another unrealistic expectation.
5. TO KNOW THE PERFECT NUMBER OF TIMES TO CALL
Almost every man complains when a lady calls too frequently and almost every man complains when she also calls less frequently. Expecting us to call you at the right time always is another unrealistic expectation. We definitely can’t read your mind and we also won’t know when you’re extremely busy.
6. WANT A WIFE MATERIAL AND A GIRLFRIEND MATERIAL AT THE SAME TIME
Most men want a wife material and also expect a girlfriend material at the same time. If she’s too homely then she isn’t a girlfriend material and he would most likely cheat on her with a girlfriend material. If she’s a girlfriend material then she isn’t someone you can get married to. This is another unrealistic expectation.
7. WANT THE PERFECT MORNING FACE
Most men would tell you they prefer when a woman is natural to when she has her makeup on. If you ask me, I’d call it plain hypocrisy, because they would also expect that same woman to wake up with the perfect morning face.
Almost every woman has had an experience with a man who has had unrealistic expectations of them.
