Not everyone who wants a relationship with you will be serious about that relationship with you, and that’s the harsh truth.
Some people will come to be with you for the wrong reasons, and pretend that they care about you. It might be hard to tell that they’re pretenders at first, but upon careful examination they tend to show their true colour.

1. THEY’RE USUALLY SWEET IN THE BEGINNING
People like these are usually the sweetest and most romantic in the beginning; they tend to act like the perfect partners and sweep you off your feet, but this never lasts long. They usually show their true colour after a while.
2. THEY ARE ATTENTION SEEKERS
Pretentious partners like attention; some of the things they do for is just to gain attention; they are never true to you and are never true to themselves. They just want the spotlight.
3. THEY USUALLY WANT SOMETHING
Pretentious partners usually want something from you. They come into your life for a reason; it could be sex, money, connection or some other irrelevant things. It’s never about love, affection and care.
4. THEY’RE NEVER LOYAL TO YOUÂ
Once a pretentious partner gets what he/she wants, there’s usually a change in character. While some of them might leave thereafter, many tend to change from their loyal selves to their real selves. A pretentious partner will never be loyal to you.
5. THEY SAY SOMETHING AND DO ANOTHER
A pretentious partner will say something to you and do another; they are never trustworthy or reliable and they usually come up with a lot of lies disguised as truths.
6. THEY’RE NEVER THERE FOR YOU WHEN YOU NEED THEM
Pretentious partners will never be there for you; they’ll never give you that support you need and will never be there emotionally for you. They are usually selfish and care only about themselves.
7. THEY DON’T LAST
Pretentious partners don’t stand the test of time; their love and affection fades quickly and they leave at the slightest hurdle. They come pretending to be your soul mate, but they leave you once they get what they’re most interested in or when the going gets tough.
