Not all old-fashioned ideas should be done away with; sometimes, we still have a lot to learn from some of those things we deem old-fashioned.
The idea of an old-fashioned relationship these days is mostly derided as many would prefer to move on with the modern times.
I’m not totally castigating the modern relationship and appreciating the old-fashioned relationship but there are some certain tips from the old-fashioned relationship that if brought to our modern relationship would help it in so many ways.

1. NEVER HIT A WOMAN
Back in the days, mothers taught their sons some manly traits that they should always adhere to and one of them was to never hit a woman. These days, domestic violence seems to be on the increase as some men would rather pour out their vengeance on a lady than imbibe self-control. Hitting your lady is never a good way to solve a relationship problem; instead you would successfully create a divide by instilling fear in your partner.
2. WOMEN, RESPECT YOUR MAN
This is another old-fashioned relationship advice that was handed down to most women but it seems be going away so fast. Respect is one trait that’s needed for any relationship to really work; for love to have a significant effect in a relationship, respect is highly needed; a woman should respect her man and a man shouldn’t take her respect for granted, but should also respect a woman as well.
3. CLEAR INTENTIONS
These days, both men and women do not show clear intentions when entering a relationship. In an old-fashioned relationship, if the man loved you, he would make his intentions clear and also if he wants a fling, it would also be made aware. Ladies now go for wealth in the disguise of love and men go for every reason other than love; clear intentions seem to have been lost.
4. THE MAN SHOULD BE THE MAN
In an old-fashioned relationship, the man tries to show his masculinity; he tries to protect and provide for his lady, he’s romantic enough to know that making his lady happy is a priority and more interestingly, he marks his territory because he doesn’t want to lose his lady; but these days, anything goes.
5. THE LADY SHOULD BE THE LADY
A lady loves to be desired, protected; she loves to be sexy, attractive and prides in herself, her man and never jokes with her relationship. She knows her relationship means a lot to her and she does so much to protect it.
6. THE RELATIONSHIP GROWS SLOW AND STEADY
That feeling of chasing a lady and her attitude of showing the green light is one that’s fast losing grounds; it’s old-fashioned but it really makes the relationship transcend in a slow but very steady way. The man tries to show his lady his feelings for her, bids his time, appreciates her, and takes her on dates till she yields in. These days, that patience is far lost, marriage happens fast and ends quickly, people are in a rush to start a sex campaign than a relationship and all these have contributed in killing that slow and steady romantic growth.
7. DEFYING YOUR MARRIAGE BED IS A TERRIBLE ACT
In an old-fashioned marriage and relationship, cheating on your partner was a hideous act and one that’s done secretly, but these days we are so in the 21st century that unfaithfulness is at its peak that there are so many articles on the internet that would teach you how to cheat on your partner; to me, it’s insane.
The old-fashioned relationship isn’t perfect and the modern relationship has its own flaws as well but a combination of some good old-fashioned relationship traits combined with some good modern relationship traits would make your relationship super-successful.
