7 HABITS THAT MAKE YOU FAT

obese fat

These habits you have needs to be replaced now with healthy habits if you don’t want to end up fat. I know you are wondering the habits I am referring to.

Check out the habits that make you fat below

1. EATING LOW-FAT OR FAT-FREE FOODS

Eating low-fat or fat-free foods would get you fat because the harmless fats in the foods get replaced with low-performing carbohydrates that digest quickly. This quick digestion causes a sugar rush and hunger almost immediately.

2. NOT SLEEPING ENOUGH OR SLEEPING TOO MUCH

Less sleep or too much sleep can get you fat. Sleeping less than five hours per night or more than eight hours per night would definitely make you fat. It’s advised you get six to seven hours of sleep per night.

3. EATING JUNK FOODS

Regularly consuming junk foods like biscuits, chips, and bread sticks can make you fat. Try reducing your consumption of junk foods.

4. DRINKING SODA

A 2005 study found that drinking one or two sodas per day increases your chances of being overweight by nearly thirty-three percent. Diet sodas are not any better too as researchers found that drinking two or more sodas per day increases your waistline five times faster when compared to non-drinkers.

5. SKIPPING MEALS

If you enjoy skipping meals, quitting the habit would be of immense benefit to you. Most people tend to skip meals so they can lose weight but skipping meals especially breakfast increases your odds of obesity. This is because skipping meals slows your metabolism and boosts your hunger which puts your body in prime fat-storage mode and increases your odds of overeating when you have your next meal.

6. EATING TOO QUICKLY

Eating quickly would get you fat because it takes twenty minutes for your stomach to tell your brain that you are full. According to a study published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association, people who eat fast take in 66 calories more than those who eat slowly per meal.

7. WATCHING TOO MUCH TV

This is definitely bad news for a lot of people; watching too much TV would get you fat. A University of Vermont study found that overweight people who reduced their TV time by just 50 percent burned an extra 119 calories a day on average.
