Youthful exuberance is such a complex thing to handle. As a youth, you are faced with so much, but handling them right is everything. If you do not take the right decisions today, there’s a very high chance it’ll come back to haunt you tomorrow. A lot of younger people have grown older to regret some of the decisions they failed to take in their younger years.
Here are some of those regrettable decisions tomorrow.
BURNING THE PARENT(S)-CHILD BRIDGE
For some reason, younger people tend to think that being young means perfection, and old age means you’re no longer relevant. It is wrong of course. A lot of younger people have shown disrespect to their parents because they feel they are past their prime, and do not understand how the modern world works. They reject parental advice, and do all sorts that are wrong.
The truth is, no matter how old a parent gets, they’re still very likely wiser than you think you are because they’ve had more experience dealing with life’s issues.
There are probably billions of people dying to reconnect with their parents, and praying for a chance to love them and talk to them again. You have yours around today, why not treat them right. If you do not enjoy your parents while you yet can, you may wish you had years from now.
THE LOVE YOU NEVER ACCEPTED
It’s common to see us not liking those who like us a lot, so more often than not, we end up pushing them away. But the truth is love grows. Just because you don’t immediately like that person as much as you think you want to, doesn’t mean you cannot give yourself a chance to grow to.
It has been said that true love comes just once. Be sure to recognise and take advantage of it when it comes knocking so you don’t spend the rest of your older years wishing you did.
A lot of us tend to consider trivial factors like beauty when choosing a partner. As good as beauty is, it isn’t everything.
WASTED FINANCIAL RESOURCES
Your youth is the best time to work and invest so that when old age hits, you have something to live off. A lot of young people today spend their money and resources on unimportant things like partying and alcohol, forgetting that it may not be available forever. Invest your money wisely today, so that you can live happy without regret tomorrow.
MISSED OPPORTUNITIES
The average young person gets tons of opportunities to set their life in motion for a very great future. You get the chance to study, make the most of it. You get the chance to work, make the most of it. Do not procrastinate in hope that more opportunities will show up tomorrow because they actually may not. And by the time you realise your mistake, it would have been very late.
THE BODY YOU MESSED UP
As you masturbate and abort multiple children, remember that there’s not guarantee you’ll have more children in future. So why not save yourself the stress, and remain celibate, or perhaps, have those kids now? The body is very delicate. It can be easily damaged. Be careful handling it.
THE BABY YOU REJECTED
A lot of young men and women are usually quick to deny responsibility of their own children because they don’t foresee tomorrow. That child you reject today may be the only one you’ll ever have. So what happens when you’re older and ready to settle, and in need of one, and the doctor says you can’t have any more kids?
THE BRIDGES YOU BURNED
The connections and friendships you create today may be the difference between a healthy future and an unhealthy one. Do not disrespect friends and family because you think you’ll no longer need them. No one is an island. We all need a little help every now and then. Do not alienate yourself by your own actions.
