6 SIGNS YOU FEEL AT HOME IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP

The Webster dictionary defines ‘at home’ as: 1. Being relaxed and comfortable. 2. in harmony with the surroundings.

The second definition triggered me the most, and it perfectly explains how you should feel in a relationship.

Like I mentioned in a previous article, do you feel at home in your relationship?: “A relationship should feel like a home; it should have this feeling of warmth and comfort, it should be different and most importantly there should be love; these would make a relationship feel like home.”

When you’re in a relationship that feels like home, you have this ‘life is good’ feeling.

Below, I would share six signs that show you feel at in your relationship.

1. YOU TRUST YOUR PARTNER

You can’t feel at home in a relationship when you don’t trust your partner; you can’t feel at home with a partner that has the tendency to cheat at the slightest opportunity. But when you have that gut feeling that he/she wouldn’t cheat on you, you feel at home. When you know your partner is a man or woman of his/her words, you would feel at home. A relationship with trust is one you feel at home in.

2. YOU UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER

Understanding is vital in a relationship. If you have a relationship filled with fights and quarrels, nagging and complaining then you wouldn’t feel at ease. But when you’re in sync with your partner, you feel better, you feel comfortable and you feel at home.

3. YOU’RE HAPPY

Obviously you are happy when you’re home. If you’re in a relationship where you are happy with yourself and you’re happy with your partner then you’re definitely at home.

4. YOU HAVE A BEST FRIEND IN YOUR PARTNER

When you have a partner that isn’t just your lover but your best friend then everyday in that relationship would be lovely. The relationship would be magical, it would have life, you would be happy and you would definitely feel at home.

5. YOU WOULD RATHER BE WITH NO ONE ELSE

The feeling that comes with loving your partner to the extent that you would rather be with that special someone and no one else is a feeling that signifies you’re at home in your relationship. When your partner takes a huge place in your life, a place you wouldn’t want to share with anyone else then you have a relationship you can call home.

6. YOUR FLAWS ARE ACCEPTED

When you’re in a relationship where you’re constantly reminded of your flaws then you would definitely not be comfortable. But when your partner makes you feel genuine, when you don’t have to be fake, when your flaws are accepted in the relationship, you would feel at home.

Your relationship should be home to you; it should be a home like no other. If it lacks this feeling then there just might be something wrong.
