6 REASONS YOU SHOULD NEVER BE LATE, EVEN AS A BOSS

man late for work

Time management is an important issue that many people take for granted. Time is valuable, it is precious, it can’t be regained but it can be used effectively.

Many bosses tend not to keep to time because they feel they call the shots and run the show then they could come to work at any time. Many bosses find it hard to keep to time, but they expect their subordinates to keep to time. If you check bosses like these, there is usually a nonchalant behaviour among their staffs when they aren’t around.

This is why you should keep to time even as a boss.

1. YOUR BUSINESS NEEDS YOU

Your business should be important to you and it needs your attention for it to keep growing. When you run your business without keeping to time, your staffs would be nonchalant, and your business could crumble.

2. YOU LEAD BY EXAMPLE

A good leader leads by example. You would build a better workforce when you lead the right way, which is by example. People want to look up to their leaders; they want their leaders to be someone they can look up to.

3. YOU CAN CORRECT YOUR EMPLOYEES/SUBORDINATES

It’s easier to teach your employees and correct them when you do the right thing and lead the right way. However, when you’re a perpetual latecomer, your employees would take a cue from you.

4. YOUR EMPLOYEES WOULD FOLLOW YOU

You employees don’t really look at what you say but what you do; they are humans too and have an opinion. When the man at the top keeps to time, those below would scramble to be on time to — it’s human nature.

5. IT TELLS A LOT ABOUT YOUR PERSON

What you do tells a lot about your person. If you are the kind of boss who keeps to time, you would be seen as efficient, a hard worker and a person of principle. However, when you don’t, your employees would have all manner of negative opinions about you — and they’re correct.

6. IT KEEPS YOUR EMPLOYEES ON THEIR TOES

When you lead by example, you keep your staffs on their toes because they know you are a man of your words and a principled person. It creates this fear factor and your acts would rub off on them.

Keeping to time is very important, even when you are a boss.
