You know that couple that you love and admire so much, that you’ve tagged as the best couple ever; well, they might also tend to make these little mistakes that do not seem so little after all.
These are six of the mistakes even smart couples tend to make
1. LETTING THEIR PARENTS MAKE THEIR PERSONAL DECISIONS
No matter how much your parents might be loving and want the best for you, there are certain decisions that ought to be made between you and your partner. It’s a huge mistake to let your parents make your own decisions for you when you are married; you can seek their advice, and they can give you advice, but they shouldn’t make the decisions for you.
2. LETTING FRIENDS INTERFERE
This is another mistake that might be deemed as little or normal, but isn’t actually little or normal. Your marriage is between you and your partner; when there’s a third-party influence of any kind, your marriage might suffer for it.
3. MAKING THEIR SEX LIVES NONEXISTENT
Many couples get so busy with their lives and careers that they don’t even find little time to canoodle, not to talk of having sex. When this part of your marriage is dead, your marriage will most definitely lose its spark.
4. ASSUMPTIONS AND PRESUMPTIONS
Assuming, presuming, thinking — words like these will kill your marriage and cause a divide between you and your partner. Stop making assumptions, and start communicating with your partner.
5. UNDERESTIMATING KIND GESTURES
Don’t for a second get used to the kind gestures from your partner that you fail to appreciate and be grateful for them.
6. TELLING FRIENDS THE THINGS YOU SHOULD BE TELLING YOUR PARTNER
A lot of couples (even smart couples) find it easier to communicate with their friends about issues bothering their marriage than with their partners.
The kind of bond you have with your friends that you feel comfortable to tell them anything, is the kind of bond (or even more) you should have with your partner. Try as much as possible to build this kind of bond with your partner, and you’ll find communication so easy between the two of you.
There’s no perfect human being, but despite our imperfection, every day of our lives should be geared at making ourselves better in whatsoever thing we find ourselves.
