They say ‘love is blind’, so it’s not entirely surprising as to what lengths people are willing to go just to impress those they fancy. I mean, everyone has done (or do) stuffs for those they care about (even I), but that’s not really where I’m driving at. What I do find crazy though, is that some of us go to the extent of acting outside the limits of what is considered rational just because we want to please those we like. I’ve seen people lose themselves entirely all in the name of love. I think it’s just crazy; love isn’t conditional, it is real, and it finds you no matter who you are. People need to understand this. To lighten you up, I’ve compiled a list of some of the crazy things guys do in the name of love… check it out:
1. DISRESPECTING FAMILY AND FRIENDS
I’ve met guys who talk to their friends and family without regard for their feelings just because they want to seem authoritative to their girl. Some even stop visiting and calling you because they feel they have better company in their girl. It’s wrong, family and close friends shouldn’t be traded for anything/anyone. If a girl can allow you disrespect those who are close to you, obviously, she doesn’t have your interest at heart.
2. MISGUIDED SPENDING
Some guys spend unnecessarily by either buying way too expensive clothes/accessories they do not really need or spending more money than they actually want to just because they want to impress a girl somewhere. It is completely crazy, and personally, I believe women do not respect/value guys who are easily manipulated.
3. FIGHTING FOR NO REAL CAUSE
Some guys want to be the ‘knight in shiny armour’ so bad they pick unnecessary quarrels and get into fights for the sake of a girl without even pausing to find out if their girl is wrong or not. It is very stupid, and most of the time, the girl ain’t even theirs yet. As a sensible man, you ought to approach issues diplomatically; be calculated and calm. Real women like people like that more.
4. TELLING RIDICULOUS LIES
I’m Barack Obama’s special assistant, I earn 6 figures a month, I don’t fart, I dine with Jay Z and Beyonce…blah blah blah’ are some kind of the lies some guys tell women just so they impress. Totally unnecessary! What happens when you’re busted? Besides, you do not need to lie about who you are to find love and affection; if a particular girl doesn’t like you for who you are, there’s always someone else willing to take her place. Just look around some more.
5. ‘FRONTIN’ A FAKE PERSONALITY
A good guy suddenly starts pretending to be a bad guy because he perceives some women ‘like bad guys more’. He drops all his positive attitudes and picks up all the negative ones forgetting that when you fake something, it’s usually easy to detect. It’s even harder to be someone else than it is to be yourself, so why bother? There are girls who prefer good guys to the bad ones so there’s no need to change who you are. Be real, and the right girl will come along.
6. EXCESSIVE CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE
In an attempt to boost their confidence and appear cool, a lot of guys resort to the intake of alcohol and harmful drugs like marijuana without knowing that these things can have a damaging effect on one’s health. Excessive alcohol intake can cause liver damage, smoking can destroy the lungs. Confidence is a psychological thing so no drug can really boost it, rather work on your self-esteem or consult a professional psychologist.
