5 THINGS THAT COULD MAKE YOUR CV WORTHLESS

Your CV is a professional representation of yourself, and any mistake or inappropriate item on it could make you overlooked for the job.

These are some of the things that shouldn’t be found on your CV.

1. SPECIAL FONTS

Special fonts and characters shouldn’t be found on your CV; it would only make your CV look childish, and it would make it uneasy for your employer to view what’s written — and no employer has that time.

2. BAD GRAMMAR

Bad grammar shows laziness and a lackadaisical attitude. If you can make errors on your CV, you would only pass a wrong message to an employer that you are unfit for the job.

3. IRRELEVANT ACHIEVEMENTS

Your employer wants to only see relevant information on your CV; irrelevant achievements would only make your CV look like a child’s affair. No employer has the time to go through all those irrelevant achievements.

4. PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION AND LONG LIST OF HOBBIES

A physical description of yourself and a long list of hobbies make your CV unprofessional. An employer doesn’t need to know all these.

5. COLOURFUL TEXTS

Your CV should be simple and in regular black texts. Trying to beautify your CV with colour wouldn’t give you the job — you might lose it if you aren’t careful.

All your employer wants to see on your CV are professional facts that make you a worthwhile candidate; anything other than that is a waste of time.
