Choosing a spouse is one of the most important decisions you will have to make in life. When choosing your spouse, there are several questions you should ask yourself. These questions would help guide you and ensure you make the right choice.

Below are 5 questions you should ask yourself before you get married to your partner

1. AM I FRIENDS WITH MY PARTNER?

Love alone can’t keep a marriage. When choosing a spouse, it’s important you choose someone you love and you are also friends with. Your marriage is destined for failure if you are not friends with your spouse.

2. ARE YOU COMFORTABLE BEING AROUND HIM/HER?

There’s no point getting married to someone you aren’t comfortable being around with. If you have to pretend to be someone else when you are with your partner, then he/she isn’t your spouse.

3. WILL I STAY MARRIED TO HIM/HER NO MATTER WHAT?

You should get married to someone you will stick with no matter what happens. Marriage means nothing when there is no commitment. So before you say “I do”, ask yourself if you can stay committed to him/her no matter what happens.

4. WHAT DO MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS THINK OF HIM/HER?

Before choosing a life partner, it’s important you consider what people who care about you, like your family and friends, think about your partner. If your family and friends think he/she isn’t right for you, try to find out why they have such opinion and carefully consider their fears before making a decision.

5. AM I ATTRACTED TO MY PARTNER’S LOOKS OR PERSONALITY?

I definitely can’t deny the fact that looks matter when choosing a spouse but physical attraction shouldn’t be the only basis for getting married. You should be attracted to your partner’s personality and not just your partner’s looks.
