4 INTERESTING WAYS YOU CAN IMPRESS AT AN INTERVIEW

It doesn’t really matter how poorly put together your CV was, once you get to the point of interview, that is the ultimate. What you do or don’t can be the difference between changing jobs or employment status for you.

The world never stops evolving, so what recruiters pay more attention to at an interview has changed. I have outlined below, some interview tips that could help land you that job.

SPEAK CLEARLY AND USE GOOD GRAMMAR

For some reason, people believe that good grammar equals intelligence. If you can manage to use meaningful and correct grammar, and talk at an incredibly good pace, you’ll more than impress your recruiters because they too are human, and they’d think you know so much. It’s a trick that I’ve successfully used in the past.

BRAG ABOUT YOUR PAST ACHIEVEMENTS AT ANY GIVEN POINT

Do you really want to impress interviewers during interviews? Then make sure you wet their appetites with whatever you have achieved –fiction or real.

When a company really wants to hire someone, they go for someone who creates urgency in his answers, talks about what he has done in the past, and proffers solutions to problems faced presently.

Bragging about your achievements could mean:

– How you made millions in sales for your last company.

– A technique you employed to curb downtime on their network.

– How you brought in several contracts for them.

Anything to wet their appetite and put you in their memory is welcomed.

TALK ABOUT SKILLS YOU HAVE ACQUIRED

Recruiters are looking for young people they can use to their advantage, not people they’ll end up spending so much on. So when you get the chance, tell them what you are bringing to the table. Do you have IT skills? Which ones do you have? Be sure to mention them at this point. If you can keep your cool under intense pressure, it should also come up as one of the things you’re good at.

MENTION TOP PERSONALITIES YOU KNOW/ HAVE WORKED WITH

If you have an interview today with any firm or organization, and you are able to convince them you know top dignitaries, it is more than likely you are hired already.

Companies are looking for contacts to penetrate the market, and anybody that would help bring it is welcomed. However, remember make it subtle, so it isn’t misunderstood as bragging or it’s the only thing you’re offering them.

List out the few skills that you have, and subtly talk about people that you know who can help push the company forward.

These tips may not work for every organisation, but it does work for most of them. Use them well, and you’re likely off to your next job.
