If there&#8217;s no forgiveness, then that relationship is as good as dead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/LloReKq3Z_8\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There&#8217;s a limit to how far one can go when\nit comes to forgiveness, but how far is really far, and when is the acceptable time\nto reach the end of the straw and decide that it&#8217;s over?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Infidelity is as old as culture itself; it was\ncommon among the classical Greeks and Romans, pre-industrial Europeans,\nhistorical Japanese, Chinese and Hindus, you name it. In modern day, the trend\nseems to be at its worse. A study of American couples indicate that 20 to 40%\nof heterosexual married men and 20 to 25% of heterosexual married women will\nalso have an extramarital affair during their lifetime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a popular lifestyle magazine,\naround 17% of total divorce cases are due to infidelity, and surprisingly, a whooping\n90% believe adultery is wrong!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The big question isn&#8217;t: why do people cheat\non their spouses? But, will you forgive a cheating partner? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A recent incident around my neighbourhood brought\nabout this question, as a friend and I talked at length at the limit one can go\nto forgive a cheating partner. You&#8217;d agree with me that a vast majority of cheating\npartners don&#8217;t get caught, and the ones who get caught tend to repeat the act\nhoping they don&#8217;t get caught the next time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s take a look at the following indices:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.&nbsp; A\nman can love his partner and still cheat just for the thrill of being with someone\nelse, and it also applies to a woman. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Emotional neglect is a major reason why\npeople cheat on their spouses. Being neglected emotionally could cause people\nto stray even if they don&#8217;t want to. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. It probably could be a fling without any\nattachment, but no matter the name you call it, it&#8217;s still cheating. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Old flames never die they say. What if it&#8217;s\njust old flames? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Back to the incident in my neighbourhood, a\nwoman caught her husband in the act of infidelity (for the second time in over\na year). The couple were doing well together, they were in love and had a happy\nfamily and everything seemed to be perfect, or almost perfect. But then, for reasons\nunknown to us, the man was involved in sexual infidelity and got found out by\nhis wife. He pleaded for forgiveness, and she gave in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fast forward to just over a year later, a\nsimilar thing happened again, but this time, the woman was done with. She didn&#8217;t\nhave the heart to forgive her beloved husband a second time and was keen on\ngetting a divorce.
