Beards are the ‘in thing’ now. They’re increasingly becoming popular among young men. Men want to groom it, and women seem to be attracted more to men who do. This wasn’t always the case though, there were times when shaving was the gentlemanly among men, but times change like they say.

Growing a beard, as common and popular as it is, isn’t easy. Unless it’s in you to be hairy, it can be frustrating to get one. But that doesn’t make it impossible. It is achievable, a fine and healthy looking beard, if you do the right thing.

This post is going to show you some steps you can follow to get the fuller, thicker beard you want.

MANAGE YOUR STRESS. EXERCISE MORE

It is a fact that stress contributes to hair loss. When you are under stress, your male hormone levels drop, and this constricts blood vessels thereby causing the hair toot to receive fewer nutrients. You should avoid stressful situations, always find time to relax and try and sleep a minimum of 7 to 8 hours daily. This is essential for not just your beard growth also for your general well-being.

PROPER SKIN CARE

Cleaner skin makes hair growth easier and faster. When your skin is not clean, hair follicles can become blocked with dirt, thereby preventing your hair from growing. Practice proper skin care, ensure your skin is always clean and use healthy hair grooming products. Helps if you also exfoliate your face at least, once a week, this helps remove dead cells and stimulate facial hair growth.

MINOXIDIL FOR BEARD GROWTH

One of the proven way to growth a fuller, thicker beard is to use Minoxidil (Rogaine). In essence, it stimulates and enlarge the hair follicles. Use it everyday and finally get the beard you’ve always wanted.

BE MINDFUL OF WHAT YOU EAT

Protein accelerates hair growth. So you must eat a lot of it if you want a healthy looking beard. It’s also important to get as much vitamins as you can, and drink lots of water.

DON’T SHAVE, DON’T SHAPE TOO SOON

Ignore the common belief that the more you shave, the more the beard grows, it isn’t exactly true. You need to give your beard time to grow if you want to grow fuller beards. You must let your beard grow for at least 2 to 3, 4 months (without shaving or shaping). Only then, would most beards start to fill up and connect.

USE BEARD OIL

Once you start growing a beard even if it’s still light and faint, start applying a nice beard oil to make it grow faster. It also makes it look healthier, younger and fuller. While there are so many beard oil products out there that claim to enhance beard growth, I will say go with trusted brands and only those that contain Eucalyptus as the main ingredient, as eucalyptus helps promote facial hair growth.

AVOID USING STEROIDS

Most steroids have side effects that aren’t good for your hair gain process. They cause blisters and lightening of the skin, and these could truncate your hair growth process.

BE PATIENT

Growing a beard takes time. You must be ready to give it time to grow. Be patient, and all the while, follow the advised tips. While some are naturally hairy, and grow fuller beards in time, some others take up to 30s to get the beard they want.
