The World Health Organisation has warned oral s*x is causing the spread of a dangerous gonorrhea superbug, according to a report on Daily Mail.

According to the World Health Organisation, this form of gonorrhea isn’t treatable and it’s spreading rapidly across the world, putting millions of lives at risk.

Experts claim the incurable gonorrhea has started to spread after becoming resistant to antibiotics, which has been partly caused by oral s*x and a decline in condom use.

Gonorrhea is a bacterial infection which is normally treated with a short and simple dose of antibiotics but gonorrhea has become increasingly resistant to common antibiotics due to over-subscription of antibiotics.

This untreatable gonorrhea can live at the back of the throat, thereby becoming immune to antibiotics used to treat common throat infections.

Bacteria can become immune to antibiotics when they evolve new self defence mechanisms to stop the drug from being effective.

“Gonorrhea is a very smart bug,” said Teodora Wi, a human reproduction specialist at World Health Organisation, via Daily Mail.

“Every time you introduce a new type of antibiotic to treat it, this bug develops resistance to it.

“When you use antibiotics to treat infections like a normal sore throat, this mixes with the Neisseria species (gonorrhea bacteria) in your throat and this results in resistance.”
