A man thinks differently from a woman, and according to science, a man’s brain is wired differently too, and this affects the way a man thinks, acts and behaves. His emotional and sexual life are according to the way his brain is wired.

See some things science has discovered in a man’s brain.

1. MEN FIND IT HARD TO BE FAITHFUL BEFORE 30

Men also want to settle down and get married, but find it hard to be committed before they turn 30, according to a study of Bolivian men published in the Proceedings of the Royal Society in 2007. After that, men primarily focus on providing for their families, the study found.

2. A MAN’S HORMONES CHANGES WHEN HE’S A FATHER TO BE

Don’t think it’s only women that have hormonal changes when they become pregnant. Fathers-to-be go through hormonal changes too; the man’s brain becomes especially primed for cooperation in the months leading to being a father.

A study in Evolution and Human Behavior conducted in the year 2000 found that a man’s prolactin goes up and testosterone goes down — which likely encourage paternal behaviour.

Also, the pheromones of a pregnant woman may waft over to her mate to cause these changes, the study found.

3. A MAN’S TESTOSTERONE LEVELS AFFECT HIS ACTIONS

A 2009 study published in the journal Hormones and Behavior found that men with high testosterone levels tend to be better at one-on-one competition, while those with lower levels excel at competitions requiring team cooperation.

4. MEN ARE WIRED TO CHECK WOMEN OUT

Men are wired to check women out, and according to Pranjal Mehta, a social psychologist at Columbia University in New York, testosterone impairs the impulse-control region of the brain. Though, they often forget about the woman, not too long after.

5. MEN ARE MORE EMOTIONAL THAN WOMEN

One particular study found that men are more emotional than women, but are only good in suppressing their emotions.

Another study, a 2008 study published in the Scandinavian Journal of Psychology found that while females are usually considered the more emotional gender, infant boys are more emotionally reactive and expressive than infant girls, the researchers found.

Adult men have slightly stronger emotional reactions, too — but only before they are aware of their feelings, the study found.

According to science, these reasons make why men act the way they do.
